Maoist victims seek return of their seized properties 13.06.10

Families affected by the decade-long Maoist insurgency have demanded unconditional return of their properties seized by Maoists during the insurgency period.
Representatives of victims, who met acting president of Nepali Congress (NC) Sushil Koirala Sunday morning at his residence in Maharajgunj, submitted a petition urging him to put pressure on the Maoists to return the seized properties to their rightful owners.

Koirala assured that he would draw the Maoists’ attention on the issue.

They have also demanded formation of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) as provisioned by the interim constitution, exemption of loans taken from various financial institutions and proper compensation for the losses incurred. nepalnews.com
