Nepal National Pavilion at Shanghai Expo attracts 2 million visitors 04.07.10
The Expo 2010 was opened
in Shanghai, China on 1 May, 2010 and will run till 31 October, 2010.
Expected number of visitors to Expo till the closure is 70 million.
"More than 30 thousand visitors visit Nepal Pavilion every day. The number is more than 50 thousand during the weekends and holidays," said Binayak Shah, Director of Nepal Pavilion Expo 2010 Shanghai.
A 12-minute promotional video film on Nepal has been produced and is being shown at the Nepal Pavilion. A large poster on Mt. Everest and Himalaya range has also been published and exhibited at the Pavilion.
"There has been extensive coverage of Nepal National Pavilion by Chinese media - radio, television, newspapers and magazines. Media from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan has also reported many news stories about Nepal National Pavilion," said Shah.
More than 21 delegations from China and abroad have visited Nepal National Pavilion so far. Four delegations and several individual visitors from Nepal have also visited Nepal Pavilion during this period.
"Expo visitors as well as the media have appreciated the display made at the Pavilion to highlight Nepal as the birthplace of Buddha, he said adding, "The artistic architecture presented at Nepal Pavilion has been the centre of attractions for thousands of visitors."
Implementing Experts Group (IEG) is the official organiser of Nepal. IEG is preparing for Nepal's National Day at Expo which is scheduled for 3 September, 2010.
