Swiss speaker in town, EU team arriving on Monday 31.10.10

Speaker of the Swiss National Council, Pascale Bruderer Wyss on Sunday arrived here in the Capital on a six-day visit.
According to the Swiss Embassy, Wyss will meet Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala, CPN-UML Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal, UCPN (Maoist) Vice-Chairman Baburam Bhattarai and Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala. Speaker Wyss will also meet Swiss arms monitors and visit Okhaldhunga and Solukhumbu districts to inspect the Swiss-funded projects.

Meanwhile, a four-member delegation representing the Committee on Development of the European Parliament is arriving here on Monday on a five-day visit. "The Committee decided to visit Nepal with the aim of learning about the current status of EU-Nepal cooperation and the progress achieved so far in the peace and constitution-drafting process and their impact on development," read release issued by the delegation of the European Union in Kathmandu.

The delegation will meet Constituent Assembly Chairman Subas Nembang, government ministers and lawmakers from different parliamentary committees.
