Hail NTY 2011; target is to bring in one million foreign visitors 01.01.11

The Nepal Tourism Year 2011 began from today (1 Jan) with an ambitious target of bringing in one million foreign visitors during the campaign period.
Tourism entrepreneurs and government's tourism agencies organised promotional activities in the capital and other major tourist destinations around the country today to mark the start of NTY.

On the occasion, tourism operators welcomed the first five foreign visitors and Nepalis returning home from abroad at the Tribhuvan International Airport amid a cultural programme.

The first 25 persons entering Nepal today would be offered free food and hotel accommodation for one day, Nepal Tourism Board officials said.
Promotional activities were organised in Kathmandu few days ahead of the beginning of the NTY including a motorbike rally from Thankot to Nagarkot, which was inaugurated by top leaders of major political parties from different intersections on Thursday.
