Maoists want to bring its combatants under special committee before UNMIN departure: PM 01.01.11

Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that the Unified CPN (Maoist) wants to bring its combatants under the Special Committee headed by him by organising a formal ceremony before UNMIN's exit on January 15.
PM Nepal gave this information to Norwegian Minister for Environment and International Development, Erik Solheim during a telephonic conversation on Thursday.

State-owned news agency RSS quoted the prime minister’s press advisor, Bishnu Rijal as saying that Soheim had called the prime minister to learn about the progress made in the peace process and constitution drafting.
It is learnt that Solheim queried about the alternative arrangement the government has put in place to monitor the Maoist combatants and their weapons in the post-UNMIN scenario.
