The UCPN (Maoist) had proposed to defer the parliamentary voting for the Prime Minister as a condolence on the death of its lawmaker. Chief whips of the three major parties were present at the meeting of the committee, among other members.

Yadav, who had sustained severe injuries in a fire that broke out in her rented apartment in Kathmandu due to cooking gas leakage, had died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in New Delhi on Sunday.
