India hell-bent on not allowing a Maoist prime minister: Sharma 18.08.10

Unified CPN (Maoist) leader Janardhan Sharma on Wednesday accused the Indian envoys making one after another visit to Nepal of doing all they can do to not allow the Maoist party to secure the post of prime minister and form a government under its leadership.
He also said that the activism shown by India in the prime ministerial election is clearly an intervention on Nepal's internal matter, and also described it as a threat to "national sovereignty and integrity".

In an interview with a radio station this morning, Sharma also said that his party is ready to withdraw its prime ministerial candidacy for the sake of "consensus", and expects the same from its opponent Nepali Congress (NC).

He said the ball is now in NC's court and that it should act responsibly so as to pave the path for a national consensus government.
