Big three agree to accelerate constitution drafting 29.04.11
With the much anticipated May 28 deadline to draft the new constitution nearing, the major three parties in the Constituent Assembly (CA) have agreed to step up consultations to try and diffuse the deadlock in the constitution drafting process.
Top brass leaders of the major three parties, during a meeting convened by CA Chairman Subash Chandra Nembang in Singha Durbar on Friday evening, agreed to intensify bilateral and trilateral discussions to thrash out the debated issues, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal informed after the meeting.
A discussion among the members of sub-committee under the Constitutional Committee has been scheduled for May 1, he added. Dahal is the coordinator of the subcommittee formed to resolve the debated issues relating to constitution drafting.
