In his meet with President of Asian Development Bank (ADB) Haruhiko Kuroda on Monday, Pandey also said that the donors should be flexible while floating their aid so that the same could be used easily.

The minister also bemoaned the general tendency of donors of working in a project only after it becomes problem free.

He also urged the ADB to expand aid in the areas of rural roads, electrification and education.

In a response, Kuroda said that his bank was keen to help Nepal in the areas of rural roads and electrification.

He also divulged that the ADB would lend assistance in solar and wind energy in rural areas where electrification through the national grid would be difficult.

According to the Manila-based bank,  it would help to connect Nepal with India, Bhutan and Bangladesh with physical infrastructure including roads and power transmission lines along with development of water resources to address regional power demands.

Kuroda also expressed belief that Nepal could achieve 7-8 percent growth if the country went ahead in completing the development projects. nepalnews.com
