Eleven die in landslides, flood related incidents in Dolakha and Jajarkot 03.08.10
At least six labourers
working for Sipring Hydroelectric Project have been killed and some
others are missing after a flood in Sipring Khola in Gaurishanker and
Khare VDCs of Dolakha swept a makeshift camp they were staying in last
night.
The bodies of five persons have been recovered so far, but they haven't been identified yet.
At least five more labourers are missing and they are Shailesh Rai of Okhaldhunga and Shyam Tamang, Sundar Tamang, Mahansingh Tamang and Pushkar B.K of Dolakha.
Police and locals had rescued eight others alive Tuesday morning. Authorities are preparing to airlift the injured to Kathmandu for treatment.
Reports say, there were 70 labourers staying at the camp when the flood occurred.
In another report from remote Jajarkot district, five of a family died after their house collapsed with the force of the landslide that occurred in Dashera VDC Tuesday morning.
The victims have been identified as Dalbir Badi, 33 and his children - Jamara, 8; Sarita, 6; Deepak, 4; and Niraj,3.
Dalbir's wife Devishara has however been rescued and she is currently in an unconscious state. She has been rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The landslide hit VDC lies at a two days walking distance from the district headquarters. nepalnews.com
